Construction of the Downtown Dispersed Parking project is scheduled to begin in early February. The community is invited to attend a public open house to update residents and businesses on the
final construction plans and anticipated impacts. The open house will be on Thursday, January 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grand Center, 182 North 500 West.
The intent of this project is to improve parking options throughout the City’s central core. The design also includes the opportunity for aesthetic improvements in several locations. Construction is expected to begin in early to mid-February.
“These changes will add parking stalls and more evenly distribute parking in the downtown core,” said City Community Development Director Michael Black. “Additionally, the Downtown Dispersed Parking project will include aesthetic and functional features in some areas that will help beautify the downtown core and improve walkability, creating a more welcoming environment for residents and tourists alike, which will also help support local businesses.”
