[ARCHIVED] City accepting applications for Planning Commission, RAP TAC boards

The City of Moab is now accepting applications for the Moab City Planning Commission and the Recreation, Arts and Parks Tax Technical Advisory Committee (RAP TAC). Members of the Planning Commission must be residents of Moab City. Applications for both boards must be submitted no later than Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.

Planning Commission

Terms for three seats on the Planning Commission will expire in December 2024. All city residents interested in serving on the commission are encouraged to apply.

The Planning Commission typically meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. The commission is a volunteer board, with members appointed by the Mayor of Moab. The board acts in an advisory capacity for most City land use decisions. Planning Commission members receive a $75 stipend for each meeting they attend.

To apply for a position on the Moab City Planning Commission send a letter of application to: mayor@moabcity.gov or deliver the application letter to: City of Moab, Attn: Mayor Joette Langianese, 217 E. Center St., Moab, UT 84532. Letters of application should explain the applicant’s interest in serving on the planning commission and any relevant experience. Application letters must include name, mailing address, city, zip code, daytime phone number, and email address.

RAP TAC Committee

Applications are also being accepted for the RAP TAC committee. The RAP TAC is a volunteer committee that serves the important role of reviewing applications for RAP Tax Community Grants and making funding recommendations to the Moab City Council. The committee generally meets only a few times each year.

The RAP TAC application form and other information about the committee are available online at moabcity.org/RAPTAC. Email completed applications to raptac@moabcity.gov or deliver to City Hall, 217 E. Center St. in Moab.
